Good to know
“Flat” roofs are built to drain
A well-built flat roof has a small, deliberate slope that carries water to drains, scuppers or gutters. When drains block, structure sags or the original slope was too shallow, water sits — and in Ottawa, standing water freezes, thaws and works its way into seams and flashings.
That's why most of our assessments start with drainage, not just the visible damage. Read more in our guide to ponding water and drainage, or compare TPO, EPDM and SBS membranes.

Common questions
Are flat roofs actually flat?
No. A properly built flat roof has a slight designed slope that directs water toward drains, scuppers or gutters. 'Low-slope roof' is the more accurate term.
What types of flat roofs do you work on?
Residential and commercial low-slope roofs, including TPO, EPDM and SBS modified bitumen systems — from rear additions and garages to retail and multi-unit buildings.
Do you publish prices?
No. Flat roof costs depend on size, access, existing layers, insulation, drainage and membrane choice. We explain the cost drivers and give a written scope after an assessment.
Which areas do you serve?
Ottawa, Ontario and surrounding Ontario communities, including Nepean, Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Orléans, Gloucester, Westboro, the Glebe and downtown.
Have a flat roof question?
Send a few details about the roof and we'll follow up to talk through an assessment.
